Is there anything I need to do before I host my site with ChamberGates?
You do not need a thing. ChamberGates offers its customers a turnkey hosting solution. Whether you are just getting started and need to register your first domain, or need to transfer several domains from existing ISPs, ChamberGates can handle your needs.
How long will it take to setup my website?
ChamberGates will send a Welcome email to you within 24 hours of placing your order. The Welcome email will contain all of your appropriate access and login information. Please keep this email for your records.
How long will it take to activate my domain name?
Once you have received confirmation that your domain name registration has been approved, it will take approximately 48-72 hours before it will be active.
How long does it take to transfer a domain name to ChamberGates from
  another ISP?
The time it takes to change your name servers ("transfer") is entirely dependent upon your current domain registrar. In your welcome letter from us we will provide you with our name server information which you can give to your registrar. It will typically take them from 2 to 7 days to make the changes.

If you currently use Network Solutions as your domain registrar, then we will make the change request on your behalf. You will still have to approve the transfer but after you approve it, the change should occur within 48 hours.

Do I need an active domain to administer my account?
No. You will have complete control of your account the minute you receive your welcome letter. You will be able to upload your web site, view your web site, and administer your mail accounts without having an active domain with all of our plans. The only thing that you can not do without an active domain is receive email.
How long will I be down when I transfer service?
If you follow the steps below you can make the transition with a high probability that none of your visitors will know the difference -- zero downtime.
  1. Order your service with us, do not ask us to change your name server information.
  2. After you receieve your welcome letter, upload your web site and test it thourghly.
  3. Open the email control panel and create your normal mail accounts.
  4. Change your name servers for your domain as per instructions in Welcome letter.
  5. Wait seven days after your domain name information changes.
  6. Login into your old mail service using their control panel and forward any mail that arrived during the transition to your mail accounts.
  7. Cancel your existing service.
  8. Enjoy the great benefits of being with ChamberGates.
Will you waive the setup fee if we transfer from another company?
The setup fee that we charge is used to cover the labor expense of setting up your domain on our servers. This fee is necessary due to our already incredibly low prices. We typically do have promotions that waive the setup fee when you purchase longer terms with us, so you might want to look at one of these if you are opposed to paying setup fees.
Do you have any restrictions on content for your dedicated servers or
  colocation services?
Our policy on pornography, hate speech, and illegal content is consistent across all of our products and services. ChamberGates is a family friendly web host provider and therefore we do not support this type of speech or expression in any fashion.
Do you accept payments via Western Union?

We do not support payments from Western Union or PayPal. We do accept checks and money orders drawn on U.S. funds and we also accept the following major credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.

Yes we can. Just please let us know this when you order your service by placing the request in the comments field on your order.
